Mike Kloss will begin his second year as the Viking bullpen coach. He will assist Associate Head Coach Kevin Tomasiewicz with the Viking pitching staff. Kloss is another assistant with strong ties to the CCIW. He spent 2007-2010 as a rotation starter at conference rival North Central. Kloss’ playing accomplishments at North Central placed him in multiple spots in the NCC career record book. He finished his career with 36 starts (1st), three shutouts (1st), 202 strikeouts (2nd), 235 innings pitched (2nd), 16 wins (5th), and nine shut outs (9th). This earned Kloss three CCIW Pitcher of the Week awards (2008, 2009), two NCBWA/D3baseball.com national Pitcher/Player of the Week awards (2008, 2009), Two CCIW All-Conference team selections (2009, 2010), as well as one Rawlings/ABCA All-Central Region nod (2010). Kloss went 7-2 for the 2010 Cardinal team that won the CCIW
championship, and pitched the opening game of the 2010 NCAA Central Region tournament.
