Jake Hollinsaid moved to 2-0 on the season with a six-inning, one-run effort.

Ryan Javech continued his torrid hitting pace, going 3-for-3 with 3 runs scored.

Mike Sommerfield also collected three hits on the day and drove in three.
North Park continued its winning ways with a 12-4 victory over Southern Vermont College.  Jake Hollinsaid hurled six strong innings while Ryan Javech and Mike Sommerfield led the offense with three hits apiece.

The Vikings jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the second on a double by Javech, a single by Andy Athans, and doubles by Angel Carrasco and Sommerfield.  They tacked on two more in the fourth when Sommerfield singled home Zach Deutscher and Nick Marino hit a sacrifice fly to bring in Carrasco.

Four more runs in the fifth gave North Park a commanding 9-0 advantage.  Consecutive singles by Mike Domenick, Javech, Athans, and Devin Melecio pushed two runs across; a walk to Deutscher, a ground out by Carrasco, and a single by Sommerfield accounted for the other two tallies.

The Mountaineers dented the scoreboard for the first time in their half of the sixth on a walk, a groundout, and a single.  The Vikings answered in the bottom of the frame with three runs of their own: Edwin Loza led off with a single, Javech walked, Jack Murphy doubled home Loza, Melecio hit a sacrifice fly to score Javech, and Jake Passini wrapped up the scoring with a double to bring in Murphy.

Hollinsaid turned the mound work over to three relievers: Pat Richards allowed one run in the seventh on three singles; Nick Soldano worked the eighth, allowing two runs on two hits and a walk; and Chris Rivera finished up with a scoreless ninth, striking out two.

Th 19-hit Viking attack was led by Javech, who went 3-for-3 with three runs scored, and Sommerfield, also 3-for-3 with three RBIs.  Athans, Murphy, Passini, and Carrasco each collected two hits.  Hollinsaid moved to 2-0 on the season after a six inning effort in which he scattered three hits while striking out five.

The Vikings (5-0) play a JV game on Tuesday against the University of Dubuque before returning to varsity action on Wednesday against Haverford College.

Jack Murphy singled, doubled, drove in one run and scored another. Jake Passini also collected a single, a double, and an RBI. He also threw out a runner trying to advance on a ball in the dirt.
