Webster scored their only two runs of the game in the bottom of the ninth to come away with a 2-1 victory in Sauget, Illinois.  Mike Giovenco had held the Gorloks to just two hits over eight innings but yielded three hits to drop his second consecutive 1-run decision in a row.

North Park scored its only run of the game in the second when Zach Berryman doubled home Brian Staatz.  The Vikings managed only five hits against Webster starter Davide Mueller and reliever Brian Stanley, who was credited with the victory after working a scoreless ninth.  Berryman was the lone Viking with multiple hits -- a single and a double -- while Ryan Javech, Mike Sommerfield, and Staatz accounted for the other Viking safeties.

The Gorloks won the game with a pair of runs in the bottom of the ninth on a single, a sacrifice, and double, and a single.  Giovenco (2-2) worked 8 1/3 innings, walking one while fanning six.

The two teams square off for a rematch later this afternoon at GCS Park.
