North Park could not get its offense untracked in a 6-1 loss to Rockford on Tuesday evening in Loves Park, IL.

Lefty Carnell Blackmon got the start on the hill for the Vikings and pitched well, scattering three hits over 6 2/3 innings, walking four and striking out nine.  He allowed single tallies in the fourth and fifth innings and was victimized by an unearned run in a three-run seventh to be charged with the loss.  Nick Soldano finished up on the mound with 1 1/3 innings of relief, allowing two unearned runs on a pair of hits.

The Vikings' only score came in the eighth when Mike Domenick hit a two-out single and Andy Athans cracked a double to left, scoring Domenick.  Regents lefty Kevin Patterson scattered eight hits while striking out eight and issuing no walks for the victory.  Athans and Zach Deutscher were the only North Parkers with two hits.

North Park (16-8) travels to Elmhurst on Wednesday for a crucial CCIW doubleheader.  The Vikings currently are tied for second in the conference with a 5-2 record.
